More air and/or more fuel. Ram air is a great idea in theory and the more air, the less restriction, the more power. Period. Although I believe the poster is overengineering and there is a lot of other variables to achieve more power, there is no data to rebute his claims.. I would be curious but Ram air did work on the 69 Firebird Trans am and they continued to use it for years thereafter. I am curious but do not believe this mod for his Z is going to make enough difference to = the amount of work time and engineering to substanitate the mod... I give him credit for thinking outside the box and he seems to be a bright guy. I am NO engineer nor am I an aerodynamics expert but I do give a thumbs up for his "OUT OF THE NORM" thinking. I also must say I am a Pontiac enthusiast. My first car was a 68 Firebird, minus the "RAM AIR." :) He had me at "Ram Air." lol. Just my .02.
